Iberia has received the Gold Fast Travel Award from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) at its annual general assembly, held in Beijing.
Iberia’s Corporate Affairs director, Manuel López Colmenajero commented that “For Iberia it is an honour to receive this IATA certificate to reward the efforts we are making, along with the Spanish airport authority AENA, to improve our customers’ travel experience and to make T4 at Madrid-Barajas airport an example for others to follow. Our aim is to streamline the transit of our customers through the airport, enabling them to handle all procedures as conveniently and quickly as possible. The Gold Fast Travel Award is a good incentive for us to keep working in that direction.”
Iberia won the award for completing all six points of the IATA “Fast Travel” programme at its T4 hub. The programme is intended to speed all airport procedures for passengers, while also increasing efficiency and saving costs for the airlines, especially those relating to checking in, boarding, and dealing with incidents.
Passengers who miss a connection can use these devices to obtainboarding passes for their new flights, and if their luggage fails to appear, they can use them to notify the company and supply the address for delivering the luggage.
