The 36th Session of the World Heritage Committee, meeting in Saint Petersburg (Russia), has accepted the joint candidature by the Almaden Mine (Ciudad Real, Spain) and the Idrija Mine (Slovenia) for inclusion on the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites in recognition of their value as unique examples of mercury mining over the centuries.

Congratulations Almaden!
